Description: Gimbels opened in New York in 1910 and the chain became well known nation-wide, in part due to the carefully cultivated rivalry with Macy’s. These metal placards were used as means to mark furnishings and displays as Gimbels property. Meant as a simple tag, these placards are now a wonderful reminder of a time past where attention to detail and quality were paramount. Hung on an 18” gold fill chain with a vintage chandelier crystal accent.
